NATO's requirements are a big challenge for healthcare: "Priorities"
NATO membership means new tough demands on the Swedish healthcare system. This is reported by SR Ekot.
Greater preparedness is now required for worm injury events, where care must be able to quickly care for many injured people at the same time.
Torbjörn Vedberg, chairman of the military medical association, tells SR Ekot that he does not believe that Sweden will cope with such an intense situation, but makes the assessment that many patients would have to be prioritized, an image that is shared by Taha Alexandersson, emergency manager at the National Board of Health and Welfare.
- A war will always mean priorities, you may provide care that requires less resources, but it must always be medical assessments so that you do not make it difficult for the patient, she says.
