Lebanese Prime Minister: “Ceasefire Violation”

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam believes that Israel’s overnight attack on Beirut is a clear violation of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, writes AP.

He also states that it is a violation of the UN resolution that was the basis for both the end of the war in 2006 and the ceasefire that was signed in November.

At least four people have been killed in an attack on a building in a suburb of Beirut overnight. In addition to the fatalities, several people were injured, two of them seriously, according to the Beirut Health Ministry.

Attack in Beirut – IDF claims to have killed Hezbollah leader

At least four people have been killed in Israeli strikes in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut overnight.

In a statement, the Israeli military IDF said it had eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist who had coordinated and helped Hamas members carry out a major terrorist attack against Israeli civilians.

“The terrorist posed a real and immediate threat,” the IDF wrote.

In Beirut, people are extremely worried, Al Jazeera writes in its direct report. Many are said to be afraid that the fragile ceasefire will collapse completely and lead to a full-scale war.
