Israeli Cabinet Votes Yes to “Conquest” of Gaza
Israel’s security cabinet has approved a plan to expand the offensive on the Gaza Strip, a spokesman confirmed to AFP.
The offensive involves a “conquest” of all of Gaza and ordering residents to relocate. The spokesman said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu still supports Donald Trump’s plan to allow Gazans to relocate to neighboring countries. The decision to launch the offensive was made last night in conjunction with the call-up of thousands of reserve soldiers to the military.
However, this is not expected to be implemented until after Donald Trump’s visit to the region next week, writes the Times of Israel. Until then, the plan is to serve as a threat to Hamas to approve a deal to release the last hostages, according to the information.
The cabinet is also said to have voted through a proposal to once again allow humanitarian aid through, but in a new way to ensure that the aid does not go to Hamas.
