Intelligence service drops AFD's extremist label
The German intelligence service BFV recently labeled the far-right party AFD as extremist. Now, just six days later, the label is being temporarily withdrawn, reports Politico.
When the AFD was labeled extremist, the intelligence service stated that they had evidence that the party had tried to undermine the democratic order.
The AFD wants the court in Cologne to overturn the decision, and while negotiations are underway, the label will be withdrawn. Until then, the BFV classifies the party as a "suspicious case."
German ex-minister hits film producer's dog
Germany's former finance minister Christian Lindner hit a dog with his car earlier this week. The dog was so badly injured that it was euthanized, reports Bild.
According to eyewitness accounts, Lindner, the leader of the liberal FDP party, hit the dog as he was leaving an Italian restaurant in Berlin. According to eyewitnesses, he became very upset and tried to get help to save the injured dog, which belonged to film producer Wolf Bauer.
“I am very sorry that the dog died,” Lindner told the newspaper.
