Trump's answer about a third term: Not looking for it

Eight years will be enough.

That's President Trump's message when he is asked about a third term.

- It's not something I'm looking for, he says in an interview with NBC News.

Donald Trump has previously opened up about running in the 2028 election.

But now he gives his clearest message yet on the issue: He will not try to cling to the White House when his current term is over.

- I'm looking forward to four good years, and to hand over to someone, preferably a good Republican, he tells NBC News. 

Selling “Trump 2028” caps

The discussions about a third term for Trump really picked up steam after the president’s own online shop started selling red caps with the text “Trump 2028” a couple of weeks ago.

And Trump says in the interview that there are many who want him to run in the next election.

“JD Vance is fantastic”

But after these four years, he is ready to hand over the leadership role in the Maga movement to someone else.

And even though Trump thinks it is “too early” to start talking about a successor, he has no shortage of names.

– Look at Marco (Rubio), JD Vance, who is fantastic, I could name ten–fifteen–twenty people just sitting here.
