The FBI seized eleven sets of classified documents from Donald Trump.
Several of them were marked as "top secret".
The FBI raided former US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-lago estate in Florida earlier this week.
The raid started at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning and the order came from the US attorney general who received approval from a judge following suspicions that Donald Trump may have withheld and taken with him important documents after his time in the White House. The agents took about 20 boxes of documents, binders, photographs and other items during the search.
Now, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the FBI seized eleven sets of classified documents during the raid. Several of them were marked as "top secret" and were meant to be kept in special government facilities.
The newspaper has obtained a list that lists what was seized. Among the objects was also "information about the President of France".
“Could have gotten what they wanted”
During Thursday, Donald Trump wrote on his own platform, Truth Social, that the agents rummaged around and, among other things, made a mess in wife Melania's wardrobe.
Trump wrote in a post that he is "fully cooperating" and that "the government could have gotten what they wanted, if we had had it.
"
According to Donald Trump's lawyers, the documents must have been classified before Trump took them out of the White House and on to Mar-a-lago and that he had a mandate to do so.
