Boris Johnson is not allowed to read what he wrote during his time as Prime Minister.
He is not allowed to have access to the 25 notebooks that contain all too sensitive information, writes The Times.
It is supposed to be a total of 25 notebooks that the British government withholds from Boris Johnson. An examination shows that some pages contain very sensitive information, according to the newspaper. Even Johnson's WhatsApp messages have caused headaches.
The recommendation is that only people who have been cleared to have access to the highest level of classified material should be allowed to read the notes and if the notes are returned to Boris Johnson they must be "stored properly" in a secure location.
Kept detailed notes
Johnson's notes are at the center of the investigation into the so-called "partygate" scandal. The former prime minister announced his resignation as an MP last week after receiving preliminary findings from a report examining whether he made misleading statements about the parties held at Downing Street during the coronavirus pandemic.
Among other things, the report showed that he kept detailed notes of his time as prime minister.
Prime Minister Sunak doubtful
The committee in the British Parliament investigating "partygate" has asked to access the notebooks and WhatsApp messages, but so far not all the material has been made available.
According to The Times, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is said to be hesitant to submit all the material as it is said to consist of "irrelevant" personal messages, among other things.
On Monday, the parliament will vote on the committee's report.
