Trump has almost as much support as Biden despite the indictment  

 

If Joe Biden and Donald Trump were to meet in a duel for the presidency today, there would only be four percentage points in the president's favor. In a poll this week, Biden received 48 percent support in such a scenario, against Trump's 44. 

 

- This is an investigation that was largely done after the indictment [...] What does it say about Biden? said ABC's Jonathan Karl, according to a video shared by Fox News.  

 

Former Republican Governor Larry Hogan states that a majority of Americans want to see other politicians come forward. Hogan says that "never before in history" has it been possible for a third-party candidate to win, but that there is now a real chance.

Biden receives major union support ahead of the re-election campaign 

 

Shortly before Joe Biden held his first campaign meeting for the 2024 presidential election on Saturday, several of America's largest trade unions came together and expressed their support for the 80-year-old, US media reports.  

 

- I'm looking forward to this campaign, Biden said from the stage in Philadelphia.  

 

During the speech, he described the role of union workers in the next term as a cornerstone. He also praised his own economic reforms during the past term. In addition, he joked about the term "Biden-omics", which his opponents used as a term of abuse for his policies.  

 

- I don't know what the hell "Biden-omics" means, but I know it works, said Biden.
