Three dead on open street in Nottingham - one arrested
Three people have been found dead on an open street in Nottingham in the UK and a major police operation is underway, writes Reuters. A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The police are said to have first found two dead on a street and later another man on a street outside of town.
A van also allegedly tried to run over three more people who are now being treated in hospital, AP writes.
- We believe that these three incidents are all connected and we have a man in custody. This investigation is at an early stage and a team of officers are working to establish exactly what happened, said Chief Constable Kate Meynell.
The police call it a "serious incident" and several streets in the central parts of the city have been blocked off. The public is advised to avoid the area.
All traffic in the central parts of the city has been stopped.
