Camouflaged men have opened fire at a rock concert in Moscow.

At least 62 people are said to have been killed.

The terrorist sect IS has claimed responsibility for the crime.

Quick version

The shooting occurred shortly before the rock band Picnic was to perform at the Crocus concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Ria Novosti reports.

Several camouflaged perpetrators armed with automatic weapons stormed into the premises and opened fire.

At least 62 people are said to have been killed, while over 100 are said to have been injured, according to the Russian security service FSB, writes Meduza.

Over 100 people have been evacuated from the premises.

- We were a little late for the concert. When we were a few meters from the entrance, they started shooting straight at us. Right in front of me, a person fell down dead. People started shouting "run, they are shooting!", an anonymous eyewitness told TV channel Dojd.

- People forced their way in through closed doors to get out and away from the shooting, another witness told Dozjd.

According to Russian Baza, police are looking for a white sedan in which the terrorists are believed to have fled.

Ukraine: Putin's order

On Friday evening, IS claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack.

The terrorist sect writes on Telegram that the perpetrators managed to escape from the area.

The US embassy in Russia warned earlier in March that extremists were planning a terror attack in Moscow within 48 hours and urged Americans to avoid large gatherings.

The White House now states that it had no information that the attack on the concert hall would be carried out, according to Russian media.

Ukraine accuses Putin of personally ordering the attack on the concert to further escalate the war.

- Let me be clear. Ukraine has absolutely nothing to do with what has occurred, says President Zelensky's adviser Mychajlo Podoljak in a statement.

Russia has also tightened security at airports and train stations.

All events planned in Moscow this weekend have been cancelled.

Russian police have opened an investigation into terrorist crimes in connection with the attack.
