A Thai massage parlor in Kristianstad was a disguised brothel. Now a 54-year-old woman is sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for aggravated pimping. She is also sentenced to a five-year ban on food.
According to Kristianstad, she has earned at least SEK 400,000 from the illegal activity.
At the same time, her former husband, who was charged with serious money laundering, is acquitted because, according to the court, it is beyond reasonable doubt that he knew where the money he handled came from.
— The victims have been handled almost like merchandise, said prosecutor Emelie Månsson according to local media during the trial.
Three of the women are awarded damages of SEK 10,000 each, because they have been exploited in a reckless manner.
Four men are sentenced to suspended sentences and daily fines for buying sex. Since then, another 22 men who visited the salon have been convicted of this crime.
