British and French rage against Scholz after sensitive statement about Ukraine weapons  

 

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been in a storm this week after hinting that France and Great Britain are helping Ukraine on the ground in the war against Russia, writes Politico. 

 

Scholz has been under pressure for some time to send the German Taurus cruise robot to Ukraine. When he was to explain this week why he opposes, he said that it would make Germany an active party in the war.  

 

- What the British and French have done with target control and accompanied target control cannot be done in Germany. 

 

Britain and France have sent the Storm Shadow/Scalp cruise robot to Ukraine. Scholz now seemed to suggest that they also have operators in Ukraine helping the Ukrainian military fire at Russian targets. There is no evidence for that, and would be very sensitive.  

 

The British Ministry of Defense writes in a statement that Ukraine's use of Storm Shadow is a strictly Ukrainian matter and the country's former defense minister Ben Wallace saw the German chancellor. 

 

- He is the wrong man in the wrong job at the wrong time.

Secret Ukraine calls may have been intercepted by Russia  

 

Secret video calls about the war in Ukraine may have been hacked. This is stated by the German Ministry of Defense to AFP after a recording allegedly from conversations between German army commanders was posted on social media in Russia.  

 

- We are investigating whether communications within the air force sector are intercepted, says a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence.  

 

It was yesterday that Margarita Simonyan, director of the state-supported channel RT, released a 38-minute long audio recording, in which several people are heard discussing attacks on Crimea. Experts that Der Spiegel spoke to believe that the recording is authentic. 

 

In the clip, those involved talk, among other things, about the possibility for Ukrainian troops to use the German-made Taurus cruise robot, something that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has so far refused to assist Ukraine with.
