Houthi vessels in the Red Sea destroyed in US raids
The United States has destroyed two unmanned surface vehicles in the Red Sea, writes the country's military command Centcom on X. The ships belonged to the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen.
"It was determined that these systems posed an imminent threat to US, coalition forces, and merchant shipping in the region," Centcom's post reads.
Another seven radar systems and one drone have been destroyed. There are no details about how the attacks took place.

The US Navy in Yemen in its heaviest fighting since World War II
The battles against the Huthi rebels in Yemen have developed into the heaviest the US Navy has fought since World War II, several sources and experts told AP.
- I don't think people understand how bloody serious it is and how big the threat to our ships is, says Commander Eric Blomberg on the warship USS Laboon.
The Houthis launch drones or robots almost daily, up to twenty at a time. The US Navy sometimes only has seconds to deploy countermeasures. On one of the ships, the paint has been burned away on the deck by all the anti-aircraft robots fired.
According to Bryan Clark of the Hudson Institute think tank, it is only a matter of time before the Houthis grow so strong that the United States cannot repel all of their attacks.
