Upset Trump was celebrated with song: "Don't want to hear"
On Friday, former president Donald Trump turned 78. Something he didn't seem very happy about. The New York Times describes how Trump looked "genuinely upset" when his supporters broke into "Happy birthday" during a campaign speech in Las Vegas.
- You know, there comes a time when you no longer want to hear "happy birthday". They just want to pretend the day doesn't exist, Trump said.
The age of the presidential candidates has become a real hot potato ahead of the US elections this autumn. Never before have two such old people faced each other in a presidential election.
President Joe Biden turns 82 just 15 days after the election.

Las Vegas survivors challenge ban: "Why?"
Survivors and relatives of the victims of the 2017 mass shooting at an outdoor festival in Las Vegas are expressing concern after the US Supreme Court overturned a ban on so-called bouncers.
- I'm for guns, but I don't think anyone should have an automatic weapon in a civilized world. It's a ticking time bomb, Craig Link, whose brother was shot dead in the massacre, told the AP.
Bump stocks, or bump stocks as they are called in English, are an accessory to semi-automatic weapons that allow them to be fired as if they were fully automatic.
The shooter in Las Vegas just had a springboard and managed to fire over 1,000 rounds in just eleven minutes. 58 people were killed and 850 were injured when the perpetrator shot straight into the crowd.
- Why does anyone need a plunger? Why does it have to be legal? says Shawna Bartlett who survived the massacre.

America's abortion policy
171,000 Americans made abortion trips last year
More than 171,000 Americans traveled to another state for an abortion in 2023, data from the Guttmacher Institute shows, according to Axios.
That's more than doubling from 2020. 2023 was the first full year after the US Supreme Court overturned the historic Roe v. Wade ruling, which guaranteed the right to abortion.
Illinois and Florida were states that saw a large influx of abortion travelers, as they border states with heavy restrictions. Since then, however, Florida has enacted one of the toughest abortion laws in the country.
