Elon Musk vs Europe
Power outage in southern Europe boosts Musk's Starlink
Usage of Elon Musk's satellite communications service Starlink increased by an average of 35 percent on Monday in connection with the power outage that disrupted mobile networks in Spain and Portugal. This is shown by data from the analysis company Ookla, writes the FT.
In Spain, usage was 60 percent higher on Tuesday, when the telecom companies were still having problems with the connection.
According to the analysis company's spokesman Luke Kehoe, the figures represent a new record. He states that the service was used by "thousands of users", but without disclosing exact figures.

The Tiktok revolution
Trump promises to protect Tiktok: Is a bit weak for the app
Donald Trump has postponed the ban on Tiktok twice and will do so again if the Chinese Bytedance does not find an American buyer. The president said this in an interview with NBC.
– I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’m a bit of a soft spot for TikTok, Trump continues, promising to “protect” the popular video app.
Tesla’s future
Damage to Tesla cars is increasing
Over 150 cases of damage to Tesla cars have been reported to the police in Sweden since last fall, reports GP.
In total, the police have received 153 reports of damage from the beginning of November to mid-April, and the incidents include car fires.
The figure is higher than during the same period last year, when 121 cases were reported, and significantly higher than two years earlier. Then the number of cases amounted to 80.
No national compilation of the reports has yet been made, the police say. This means it is not possible to clarify whether the motives are linked to Tesla founder Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration, the newspaper writes.

Swedish interest rates
The Riksbank is expected to wait and see – signals about the next step in focus
The Riksbank will leave the key rate unchanged at 2.25 percent at Thursday's interest rate announcement, according to Infront's analyst survey. Handelsbanken believes that the next cut will come in June, while Swedbank estimates that it will happen in August. Danske Bank, Nordea and SEB currently predict that Erik Thedéen and colleagues will wait and see for the rest of the year.
The question is rather whether the Riksbank will dare to provide guidance on future interest rate changes despite the fact that no new regular forecast is being released. In February, the central bank assumed that the key rate would be left unchanged throughout the forecast period.
Even if the interest rate is left unchanged, the wording of the press release will be important for the prospects for a cut in June, SEB writes.
Stubborn inflation and rising inflation expectations should be weighed against weak growth and uncertainty about the economy in the wake of Trump's trade war, writes Direkt.
Wednesday's flash CPI may provide an initial indication of developments.

Gasoline price at lowest level in four years: "Little downside left"
Gasoline prices have plummeted by nine kronor per liter since peak levels in 2022 and are now at their lowest levels in four years, reports TT.
The price per liter is currently 15 kronor, compared with a peak level of around 24 kronor in 2022. Lower world market prices for crude oil and a weaker dollar are some of the reasons. According to Handelsbanken's commodity analyst Christian Kopfer, the price may continue to decline this week after OPEC turned its back on it this weekend and decided on a sharp increase in production in June.
– But there is not much downside left for the price of gasoline in Sweden. Even if the price of oil were to go to zero, the theoretical zero point for gasoline is around 11 kronor per liter, he says.
