Israel: We have hit Yemen's largest airport
Israel says it has hit Yemen's largest airport and several power stations around the capital Sanaa on Tuesday, AFP reports. Israel is said to have issued a warning to civilians just before the attack.
The shelling is part of the country's revenge for the Houthi militia's attack on Israel on Sunday, when several rockets landed near Ben Gurion Airport. Six people were slightly injured in that attack.
At least four were killed and 35 wounded in Israel's attack on the Houthi-controlled port of Hodeida in western Yemen on Monday, the Houthi militia said.
The Houthi militia has threatened to continue its attacks on Israeli airports, according to AFP.

After the attacks – Israel issues evacuation order
Israel has issued an immediate evacuation order at Yemen's international airport in Sanaa, several international news agencies report.
The order comes a day after Israel carried out attacks on Houthi bases in Yemen, which was a counterattack after the Houthi rocket attack on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, AFP writes.
“We urge everyone to immediately evacuate the airport area [...] If you do not evacuate, you are putting yourself in danger,” writes Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee on X.
Reuters reports that several airlines have suspended flights to Tel Aviv after the Houthis attacked it.

After the attacks – Israel issues evacuation order

Qatar, which has acted as a mediator in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, continues to work for a ceasefire, the country's Foreign Minister Majed al-Ansari announced according to AFP.
The announcement comes after Israel approved expanded military operations in Gaza, after which Hamas made it clear that it is not interested in continued talks on a ceasefire.
– Our efforts continue despite the difficulty of the situation and the ongoing catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, says al-Ansari.

A victory for Israel in Gaza will mean the strip’s “complete destruction,” says Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, according to AFP.
On Tuesday, the minister gave a speech at a conference in the occupied West Bank.
– Gaza will be completely destroyed, civilians will be sent south to a humanitarian zone without Hamas or terrorism, and from there they will begin to leave in large numbers to third countries, says Smotrich.
Yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the security cabinet had decided to launch a new offensive in Gaza with the goal of “total conquest.”
