Pope Leo goes on the attack against “tyrants” who are destroying the world. The move comes after the unusually heated verbal spat with the US president in recent days.

– The world is being ravaged by a handful of tyrants, says Leo XIV on Thursday in Bamenda, a city in western Cameroon that has long been plagued by a violent separatist war.

The American pope repeats the message of peace he trumpeted in connection with the Iran war and the Trump administration’s religious justification of the bombings.

– Woe to those who manipulate religion and the name of God for their own military, economic and political gain, and drag what is holy into darkness and impurity, says Leo.

In recent days, Donald Trump has received harsh criticism for his verbal attacks on the Pope, as well as for the AI image of himself as Jesus that he shared on social media.
