The Partygate scandal has put Boris Johnson's under heavy pressure.

Parliament wants to investigate the Prime Minister - and now dissatisfaction is growing in its own ranks.

- The show is over, says former minister Steve Baker.

Boris Johnson's hero status after the visit to Kyiv did not go far enough. Yesterday, the British Parliament turned its back on him and voted to start an investigation into whether Johnson has deliberately lied and misled Parliament about the pandemic parties, writes The Guardian.

Johnson will now be investigated by a committee and should it be established that he lied to Parliament, it is the practice that he resigns according to Parliament's rules.

Boris Johnson has both poodled and paid fines for the parties that were held when sharp restrictions prevailed in the country. So far, several partygoers have been fined.

Top politicians want to oust Johnson

Several big names in British politics have now criticized the Prime Minister's parties and the handling of the parties. Most of them come from Johnson's own party, the Tories.

Former Brexit minister in his own party Steve Baker said yesterday that he was "appalled" by Johnson's attitude and that he should have resigned a long time ago.

- The Prime Minister should have been away from the post for a long time. The Prime Minister should know that the show is over, said the former Conservative Minister Steve Baker.

And opposition politician William Wragg, chairman of the Constitution Committee, said in parliament yesterday that he had filed a motion of censure against Boris Johnson.

Apologized for the parties

Boris Johnson himself has "wholeheartedly" apologized for breaking the covid rules and participating in parties on 10 Downing street. But he has also said that he did not lie to Parliament.

On several occasions, parties have been arranged on Downing street during lockdown, among other things, there have been various birthday parties, thank-you notes and drinking evenings, on at least two occasions the participants must have brought their own alcohol.
