Rutte on text messages with Trump: It's totally okay that he shares
Rutte praised President Donald Trump in internal text messages
Trump published the messages on social media.
– I am completely fine with him sharing this, says Rutte at a press conference.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held a press conference this morning on the occasion of the NATO summit in The Hague.
Rutte was asked, among other things, about the private messages that the Secretary General had sent to President Donald Trump.Rutte congratulated Trump, among other things, on “decisive action” in Iran. What he was referring to was the US attacks on Iranian nuclear energy facilities.
Rutte himself said that he had no problem with Trump sharing the messages.
– It is completely fine with him publishing them, says Rutte when he met with journalists this morning.

When asked by a reporter if it wasn’t embarrassing that the messages were published, Rutte replied:
– Absolutely not! These are facts and I’m completely okay with him sharing this.
In the text message, Rutte praised the president.
“You will achieve something that NO American president has managed to do in decades,” Rutte wrote, among other things, in the text message.
In the text message, Rutte also wrote that “Europe will pay in a comprehensive way.”
Rutte also continued to wish Trump a pleasant trip to the NATO summit in The Hague.
