Trump's message tonight – ceasefire Tuesday morning 06.00

After a bombing, Trump was already tired of the war, according to sources to Axios.

Then Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei replied that Iran "never gives up".

At midnight, Trump's unexpected message came - a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

Tuesday 06.00 it will come into effect.

The world held its breath after the Iranian missile attack on the American Al Udeid base in Qatar shortly before 7 pm on Monday.

The attack was a reaction to the US bombing of three Iranian nuclear facilities the night before Sunday.

Would Trump order extensive revenge on  Iran?

After three hours of silence, he responded in a post on Truth social, where he thanked Iran for warning the US before the attack, and also called the attack “very weak”.

“The most important thing is that they have completely gotten it out of the system, hopefully there will be no more hatred.”, he writes.

Furious

According to sources to Axios, Trump was pleased after Iran's attack, and believed that Iran had escaped losing face without Americans or Qataris having died or been injured.

Now he wanted peace.

“Hopefully Iran can continue towards peace and harmony in the region, and I will enthusiastically urge  Israel to do the same,” he writes.

But it takes two to make peace, and late Monday night, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responded on his official X account:

"Anyone who knows the Iranian people and their history knows that the Iranian nation is not a nation that gives up," he replied defiantly.

Ready for more war

It sounded like Iran was ready for more war, and therefore Trump's new post at midnight Monday night came as a surprise.

"Congratulations to everyone. It has been fully agreed between Israel and Iran that there will be a full and total ceasefire in six hours," he writes on Truth social.

According to the post, the ceasefire will apply from 06:00 Tuesday morning Swedish time, but there is some fine print.

The first twelve hours of the ceasefire will apply to Iran, and only at 18:00 Swedish time will Israel follow suit.

If neither country breaks the ceasefire, the war will be considered completely over and peace will prevail from 06:00 Wednesday morning.

Iran first

"Officially, Iran will start the ceasefire, and on the twelfth hour, Israel will start the ceasefire, and on the 24th hour, the world will celebrate the official end of the 12-day war," Trump wrote.

He said he was confident that both countries would respect the ceasefire and praised their leaders.

"I want to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for having the backbone, courage and intelligence to end what should be called the 12-day war. This is a war that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East," he wrote.

Neither Israel nor Iran have yet commented on Trump's statement.
