Fire at one of the world's largest refineries

A fire has broken out at Ras Tanura, one of Saudi Arabia's and the world's largest oil refineries, after two drones were shot down, the country's Defense Ministry said. No one was injured, Reuters reports.

According to Bloomberg, the refinery, owned by Saudi Aramco, has halted production as a result.

The refinery is Saudi Aramco's largest, with a capacity of around 550,000 barrels per day. 

US fighter jet crashes in Kuwait

At least one US fighter jet has crashed in Kuwait, several media outlets report.

A video that CNN has verified shows the plane, believed to be an F-15, crashing near the Ali Al Salem air base in central Kuwait.

According to Kuwait's Defense Ministry, it involves several aircraft, AP writes. The number of people involved is not specified, but the ministry states that everyone on board is unharmed.

It is not clear what caused the planes to crash.

Hezbollah enters the conflict – Israel responds with attacks in Lebanon

The Iran-backed Shiite militia Hezbollah attacked targets in northern Israel during the night of Monday, thus entering the Iran conflict, AFP reports.

Israel has responded by attacking targets in Hezbollah-controlled areas in southern Lebanon. In the capital Beirut, the roads have been congested as people try to flee the city's southern suburbs.

An Israeli general says at the same time that the attacks will be intensified.

- Hezbollah chose the regime in Iran over Lebanon and launched attacks on our people. They will pay a high price, says Rafi Milo, head of Israel's Northern Military Command.

According to Lebanon's Health Ministry, at least 31 people have been killed and 149 injured as a result of Israel's attacks. A state prosecutor in the country has also ordered the security service to arrest those who carried out the attacks on Israel, writes Reuters.

Hezbollah's attacks on Israel came in response to the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to the group itself, writes NBC.

British air base attacked with drones in Cyprus

The British air base Akrotiri in Cyprus has been hit by an Iranian Shaed drone. This is confirmed by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, reports Reuters.

Christodoulides says that the country's leadership is on high alert and that they have nothing to do with the conflict.

During the night, the British Ministry of Defense stated that an air base in Cyprus had been hit in a suspected drone attack, writes The Telegraph.

No one is said to have been injured, but minor damage occurred at the airfield.

According to information to Reuters, the base was attacked with two drones, one of which was shot down.
