Middle East Crisis Iran War

Trump: Pauses Attacks on Iranian Energy

The US and Iran have had “very good and productive talks on a complete and total resolution of our conflicts in the Middle East”, according to Donald Trump.

“I have instructed the Department of War to postpone all military attacks on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days”, he writes on Truth social.

However, he adds that the duration of the pause depends on the success of the talks with Iran.

Iran's response: “Donald Trump backed down after threats”

According to Iranian state media, Iran claims that Donald Trump backed down from plans to attack the country's power plants after a sharp warning from Tehran, writes Sky News.

There will also be no “direct talks” with the White House or Donald Trump.

The information contradicts what the US president has said about the countries having had “productive talks”. Earlier today, Trump announced that he is postponing all attacks on Iran for five days.
