US threatens EU: Sign it - otherwise we'll cut off the gas
The EU must approve the previously drawn up trade agreement with the US without changing anything. Otherwise, the Union risks losing its "favorable" access to American natural gas. This is what the US EU ambassador Andrew Puzder says, according to the Financial Times.
- I don't know what will happen in terms of energy if they don't go ahead with the agreement. If Turnberry is not implemented, we're back to square one. I'm not sure which way we'll go then, he says of the agreement that was signed in Turnberry, Scotland.
US threatens higher tariffs if agreement is not approved
US ambassador Andrew Puzder warns that the EU can expect higher tariffs if the stalled trade agreement with Washington is not approved, Bloomberg reports.
“If the trade deal falls through, you will be hit with increased tariffs, while nothing changes for us. It would be fiscally irresponsible not to adopt this,” Puzder told Bloomberg.
