Attempts to start talks on an end to the Iran war, led by Pakistan among others, have reached the end of the road according to mediators.

Iran has officially informed the mediators that it does not want to meet the US envoy in Islamabad, reports the American newspaper Wall Street Journal.

Iran considers the US demands to be “unacceptable”, according to mediators.

Turkey and Egypt are trying to establish new talks. Among the possible locations for possible negotiations are mentioned the capital of Qatar, Doha, and Istanbul in Turkey.

In addition, new proposals are being aired to break the deadlock.

In the diplomatic rounds, Iran is said to be demanding that the US make several promises, including financial compensation and that the US withdraw from bases in the Middle East and guarantees not to attack Iran again.
