Americans urged to leave: “Unforeseen escalation”

Americans throughout the Middle East are being urged to “consider leaving the area” due to “unforeseen escalation.” The US embassy in Jerusalem writes this on its website, TT reports.

“Americans in the region should consider leaving, or be prepared to leave if the situation worsens,” the embassy writes.

Americans are also being prepared for disruptions in air traffic.

The top US general at the European Command, Alexus Grynkewich, warns that he does not have enough naval resources to be able to protect the US and Israel from ballistic missile attacks. In a message to the Department of Defense, he writes that he will have to prioritize the US, sources tell the Washington Post.

The US Navy has, according to the sources, been under heavy pressure during the war against Iran, when the Trump administration, among other things, imposed a naval blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US European Command is coordinating military operations in the Mediterranean. Neither the European Command nor the Pentagon have commented on the information.

Tanker hit by projectile in Strait of Hormuz

A tanker was hit by an “unknown projectile” in the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman on Saturday night, AFP reports, citing the British Navy’s maritime surveillance.

The tanker suffered engine problems as a result, but no one was injured.

It is unclear who attacked the ship and what the cause was, but Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has attacked a number of ships trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in recent days.

The incident also occurred only shortly after it was leaked that the US was planning new attacks on Iran.
