Sweden condemns Russia's annexations in Ukraine.
- A clear sign of desperation, says Magdalena Andersson.
At the same time, the Foreign Ministry summons Russia's ambassador.
At a press conference, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson condemned Russia's annexation of four Ukrainian territories.
About the mock polls, she says:
- It is nothing but a pure farce.
The EU is now preparing additional sanctions packages against Russia.
- To continue the war is Russia's own choice. There is no threat to Russia, says Andersson.

Will not admit
She calls the latest move "a clear sign of desperation on the part of Russia" and says the annexed areas are still part of Ukraine.
- Russia's economy has been hit hard and this shows that the sanctions are having an effect, continues Foreign Minister Ann Linde.
Russia's ambassador will also be summoned to receive "Sweden's strong condemnation of the annexation," she says.
Hultqvist: The threat level against Europe has increased
On a question about whether it is time for a coalition government, Magdalena Andersson says that it is primarily a question for Ulf Kristersson.
Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist says that the overall threat level against the whole of Europe has increased.
- With the annexations, Russia is now choosing to escalate the situation.
He also says that Russia has "used up its trust a long time ago".
Stoltenberg: Most serious escalation to date
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg also speaks out after Putin's new moves.
At a press conference, he says that the annexations are the most serious escalation since the outbreak of war on February 24.
