Sergey
Lavrov has been hospitalized in Bali, AP writes.
According to sources to the news agency, the Russian foreign minister
has heart problems.
In a video on Telegram, he denies the information.
The news agency AP refers the information that Sergey Lavrov is
hospitalized to a statement from the Indonesian authorities, but it is
still unclear what happened.
Lavrov is in Indonesia due to the upcoming G20 summit.
The foreign minister represents Russia during the meeting with other
world leaders after Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to
participate.
After the news broke, the Russian Foreign Ministry was quick to dismiss
the information. They call the news "fake news", reports Reuters.
Shortly after the news about Lavrov came out, the Russian state news
agency Tass published a picture of Lavrov with the quote "I'm reading
material for tomorrow's meeting at the hotel". Photo: Telegram
The Russian state news agency Tass writes that the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs' spokesperson Maria Zakharova denies the information.
"It is of course the height of fake," she writes on Telegram. Later, she
published a video of Sergey Lavrov wearing shorts and a t-shirt, who
himself denied the information.
- This is a game that is not new in politics. Journalists in the West need to be more truthful, he says according to Reuters.
