Former Vice President Mike Pence is now speaking out in his first televised interview since the storming of the Capitol.  

 

He is sharply critical of Donald Trump. 

 

- The president's words and actions were reckless. It was clear that he decided to become part of the problem.

The interview takes place two days before Pence releases a book.  

 

- His words before the crowd that day put me, my family and everyone at the Capitol in danger, the 63-year-old told ABC News.

 

He also says he was angered when Trump, during the storm, tweeted that Pence "didn't do what should be done." 

 

- I turned to my daughter who was standing by and said: It doesn't take courage to break the law. It takes courage to uphold the law.
