Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to G20 leaders to continue fighting Vladimir Putin.

The president of Ukraine refused to recognize Russia's membership in the alliance and called the summit the "G19".

- I am convinced that the time when the Russian war can be stopped is now, he says according to AFP.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke before the other world leaders at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.

The president gave a speech via video link and talked a lot about the war in Ukraine.

- I am convinced that the time when the Russian war can be stopped is now, he says according to the AFP news agency.

He urged world leaders to step up their leadership and end Russia's war in Ukraine under a peace plan he presented.

- We will not allow Russia to drag out the war and build up its forces, he says according to Reuters.

Presented peace plan

The peace plan was presented in ten points and Zelenskyy appealed to the G20 leaders to adopt the proposal and end the war "in accordance with the UN Charter and international law".

- If Russia opposes our peace plan, you will see that they only want war, he says.

During his speech, the Ukrainian president referred to the meeting as the "G19 meeting", to show that Ukraine does not recognize Russia's participation in the alliance.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi also talked about the fact that Russia must withdraw all its troops and that the government will not compromise. He also demanded that all captured soldiers be released and mentioned "all for all".

In a communique that AFP has seen, it appears that most of the world leaders at the summit condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
