The US House of Representatives votes yes to $61 billion in renewed Ukraine aid
The US House of Representatives has approved renewed military aid to Ukraine worth close to $61 billion. 311 members voted for the support package and 112 against it, US media write.
Several members cheered and waved Ukrainian flags after the vote.
Republican reluctance to approve the aid has kept the money stuck in the House since February.
Before the proposal reaches President Joe Biden's desk, the Senate must also vote on it. Everything indicates that the Senate will approve the support and Joe Biden has promised to sign the support immediately after that.
Before the vote, the House of Representatives has also approved support for Taiwan, Israel and a proposal that could see Tiktok banned if the company does not cut its ties to China. A total of $95 billion in foreign aid has been approved.
