Trump after the attacks: I don't care about a deal

Donald Trump says that the new US attacks on Iran are not an attempt to force the country into negotiations. In a post on his own social media platform Truth Social, the US president writes that he "couldn't care less" if Iran signed a deal. He believes that such a deal would be "worthless".

"I like our current position much better, with almost full control of the Strait of Hormuz and their economy completely collapsing", he writes.

It is the first time in a month that the US and Iran have attacked each other. Yesterday, the president warned that the US could attack even harder. Iran, in turn, has warned that the US attacks will have serious consequences.

Here the aircraft carrier docks in port – after eight months at sea

The US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has arrived in a port in Thailand after more than eight months at sea, US media reports. The ship has been reclassified after alarms that the crew lacked supplies and that several people on board suffered from mental illness.

Journalists were on site in the Thai port when 5,000 people disembarked from the ship, which has been at sea for 270 days. Since the USS Abraham Lincoln left San Diego last year, it has only docked for two short stops.

The plan is for the aircraft carrier to return to the US later this year.

Task: Several dead at wedding – Iran responds with attacks

Iran is responding to the latest US attacks with missile attacks and drones, state-controlled media reported according to AFP.

Jordan has shot down ten ballistic missiles from Iran, and three more have landed in remote areas. The country's military said according to AFP.

The US attacked Iranian targets at around 6pm on Tuesday evening. According to the Iranian Red Crescent, at least four people were killed and around 50 injured when a wedding in the town of Kuhestak was hit by shrapnel. One of the dead was reportedly a child.

Iran after new attacks: US commits war crimes

Iran accuses the US of committing “war crimes” after last night’s attacks, writes The Guardian. According to Iran, at least five people were killed and 68 injured when they attended a wedding that was hit by shrapnel in connection with one of the missile attacks.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent, at least one of the dead was a child, and Iranian media are spreading the names and ages of the dead.

The reports that civilians were killed and injured at a wedding have not been confirmed elsewhere. The US military says it has only attacked military targets.

Iran responded with attacks on several countries in the Middle East that have US military bases: Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait and Kurdish areas in northern Iraq. This is the first time in a month that the US and Iran have attacked each other.
