Two ships hit in Hormuz – oil prices rise
Two
large oil tankers on their way out of the Persian Gulf via the Strait
of Hormuz have been hit by unknown projectiles, Bloomberg reports,
citing Marisks, a maritime security consultant.
One of the oil
tankers, the Sidr, is part of the fleet of the Saudi shipping company
Bahri and was hit northeast of Khasab in Oman, according to Marisks.
The
other ship, The Senegal Prosperity, is part of the fleet of the
shipping company Sinokor and was hit by three projectiles in waters east
of Oman.
The data has not been confirmed by the shipping companies.
The
price of North Sea oil (Brent) rises just over 2 percent to $92.34 per
barrel. The price of fossil gas on the Amsterdam Commodity Exchange
rises 2.3 percent to 71.43 euros per megawatt hour – a new record during
the Iran war.
