For many conservative and superstitious Thais, it is a very bad omen to have a king who is hardly ever in the kingdom.
Sources say that shortly after Vajiralongkorn returns to Germany he will have a holiday in Switzerland for several weeks.
They all have to be rebooked on alternative flights. Vajiralongkorn
usually arrives very late so it's likely that TG924 will be delayed
tonight.
One of Vajiralongkorn's private 737 planes, registration HS-MVS, already
left Bangkok two days ago and returned to Munich via Dubai.
Thai sources say he's booked on Thai Airways TG924, which leaves Bangkok after midnight tonight and arrives in Germany around 0700 in the morning. The royal entourage usually takes up the whole of first and business class, and sometimes economy is cleared of passengers too.
