Boris Johnson withdraws from the fight to become the next Prime Minister of Great Britain, writes Sky News.
59 MPs from the Conservative Party have publicly supported Johnson.
To run, he would have needed 100.
Boris Johnson himself claims that he has the necessary support, but that it is still not "the right thing to do".
- I think I have a lot to offer but I'm afraid that this is simply not the right time, he says in a statement.
It opens for the big favorite and former finance minister Rishi Sunak, who was nominated by 144 members.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke today with the defense ministers of France, Great Britain and Turkey.
According to Politico, Shoigu claimed that he is concerned that Ukraine is planning to use a "dirty bomb", that is, a weapon that spreads radioactive substances.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba calls the accusations dangerous lies.
"We neither have any "dirty bombs" nor plan to acquire any. Second, the Russians often accuse others of what they themselves plan," he writes on Twitter.
During the conversation, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace is said to have warned Russia against using false accusations as a pretext for an escalation in Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron says that it is Ukraine that decides when peace is possible.
- Do not let peace be taken hostage by Russia. Peace is possible, but only the Ukrainians can decide when, Macron said when speaking at the "Cry for Peace" peace conference in Rome on Sunday, according to Le Monde.
- Peace must be built together with the other, who today is the enemy, around a table, he continued.
Macron also argued that Western countries should continue to support Ukraine so that it can ultimately lead to "the Ukrainian people being able to choose peace on the terms they have set themselves".
