After
huge Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system last Saturday,
electricity has now been restored in some places, according to President
Volodymyr Zelenskyi. But he appeals to the people to save hard, so that
the electricity system does not collapse.
At
times during Saturday, a million Ukrainian households were affected by
power outages, after Russian projectiles knocked out power plants and
lines throughout the country. But feverish repair work is underway, and
in, among other places, the Odessa region as well as Khmelnytskyi and
Rivne, the electricity has returned.
- There are positive reports from other regions as well, says Zelenskyj according to the British The Guardian.
But
the heavily bombed system is fragile, so he warns residents to continue
to exercise the greatest restraint in electricity consumption.
- The stability of the power industry throughout our country depends on what we do in each city and each district.
Also on the night of Sunday, Russia attacked with drones, but many of them were shot down, Ukrainian media reports.
