A court in Kenya has invalidated the police's ban on new demonstrations in the capital Nairobi, reports Reuters.
The police issued the ban yesterday.
The demonstrations began in response to a planned tax increase just under a month ago, but have continued even after the president withdrew the proposal.
The government's spokesperson is now calling on the protesters to end the protests on their own.
- The president and the government have heard you clearly and we are ready to act on your concerns, says Isaac Mwaura. According to him, the last month's violence has cost the country six billion Kenyan shillings, equivalent to half a billion kroner.
