Project 2025 summit resigns after Trump ire

Now the policy business is winding down, reports the Washington Post.
At the same time, director Paul Dans is resigning.
There has been quite a storm about Project 2025.
The conservative Heritage Foundation, which is behind the project, wanted to greatly strengthen the president's power, restrict the right to abortion and give the president the opportunity to fire tens of thousands of non-political officials.
The unpopular project has meant a real headache for Donald Trump as 140 people who worked for his previous administration were involved.
The Democrats have been hard on the project in their election campaign, claiming that it is a threat to democracy.
On Thursday, Heritage Found announced it was winding down the policy business, along with the departure of director and former Trump underling Paul Dans.
Trump senior adviser Susie Wiles has repeatedly called Heritage leaders and instructed them to stop promoting Project 2025.
Recently, those involved in the project have also been threatened with being excluded from a second Trump administration.
"Donald Trump has been very clear that he has nothing to do with the campaign," a spokesperson said in a statement to the Washington Post.
