The election in the United States|Resignation demands against Biden
Sources: Joe Biden 'furious' at Democrats - feels betrayed
US President Joe Biden is "furious" at how the party has tried to force him out and feels "betrayed" by several top Democrats, two sources told NBC.
The data comes after several Democrats said it is a matter of when, and not if, Biden drops out of the presidential race.
One of NBC's sources close to Biden supports the president and says Democrats should learn from Trump's 2016 presidential victory.
- Obama, Pelosi and Schumer prioritized Clinton over Biden in 2015. They were wrong then, and they are wrong now, says the source.
Biden's age and cognitive abilities have been widely debated recently. Not least after several misstatements, where he, among other things, called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj "President Putin".

New York Times sources: Biden is beginning to realize he can't win the presidential election
Joe Biden is beginning to realize that he cannot win the presidential election in November, four sources close to the president told the New York Times.
For several weeks, Biden has insisted that he will not surrender, but one of the informants says that reality is now "starting to sink in." Biden has not yet given up, but according to the source, it would not be unexpected if Biden soon announces that he is backing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate.
Several other American media are reporting similar information this evening, including Axios and NBC.
- We are close to the end, says a source to NBC.
The White House strongly denies any such reports. It is claimed that the Democratic politicians who speak to various media have joined together in a coordinated campaign to increase the pressure on Biden, writes the NYT.

Analysis: Audience captivated - "hallucinogenic" atmosphere
Donald Trump's first speech since the assassination attempt was the culmination of an extraordinary week for the United States, writes Sky News' Mark Stone in an analysis. He describes the atmosphere at the Republican convention as "almost hallucinogenic", where some in the audience seemed to be under a spell.
“It doesn't feel like the Republican Party. It's the Trump party," he writes.
In the Washington Post, Aaron Blake writes that the first quarter of Trump's speech was powerful. Blake describes the remaining 90 minutes as "confused".
The former president's initially subdued manner and encouragement of unity after the assassination attempt on him did not correspond with the speech as a whole, according to Blake.
"Trump referred to 'crazy Nancy Pelosi,' and repeatedly cited false allegations of stolen elections," he writes.

Donald Trump in his first speech since the assassination attempt: "I had God by my side"
Donald Trump has formally accepted the nomination as the Republican candidate for the US presidential election, US media reports. In connection with that, he also gave his first speech since he was exposed to the assassination attempt:
"There was blood everywhere and yet somehow I felt very safe because I had God by my side," Trump said.
Trump also paid tribute to Corey Comperatore, who died in the shooting. On stage was Comperatore's firefighter uniform, which Trump kissed.
- There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for others, that is the spirit that shaped America in its darkest hours and it is that love that will lead America back to the pinnacle of human achievement and greatness, Trump said.
