The ICJ is expected to rule on Israel's occupation
The International Court of Justice in The Hague, ICJ, is expected today to rule on Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories, several media reports.
The opinion on the legal consequences of the occupation concerns the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. Israel captured the lands in 1967 during the Middle East war.
If the ICJ concludes that the Israeli occupation is illegal, the court will call on UN bodies and countries to do nothing to support or contribute to the current situation, writes the BBC.

Israel: Increasing evidence that Hamas leader Deif is dead
The indications that Hamas leader Mohammed Deif is dead are getting stronger. This is stated by a spokesperson for the Israeli army, reports Reuters.
Deif was targeted in the attack on the al-Mawasi camp in Khan Yunis in Gaza last week. At least 90 people died and around 300 were reportedly injured in the attack, news agencies previously reported, citing the Hamas-controlled health ministry.
The Hamas leader has been singled out as one of the masterminds behind the terrorist attack on October 7.

One dead and several injured in explosion in Tel Aviv
One person has died and several others have been slightly injured in an explosion in central Tel Aviv in Israel early Friday local time, AFP reports.
A resident of central Tel Aviv tells the news agency that he was awakened by a loud bang.
- Everything shook, he says.
According to the Israeli military (IDF), it was likely a downed drone that caused the explosion, writes Haaretz. The IDF also describes the drone as "very large" and that the human factor meant that they failed to neutralize it.
Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for the drone attack.
Analysis: The drone attack in Tel Aviv marks a new phase
The drone attack in Israeli Tel Aviv that killed one man and injured eight people on Friday morning marks a new phase in the war. That's what Amos Harel writes in an analysis in Haaretz. The Iran-backed Huthi rebels are behind the attack.
The war, writes Harel, is now becoming a regional conflict with several fronts.
"Some thinkers on television and on social media demand both a declaration of war against the forces behind the attack and that the Israelis who did not activate the air defense system be fired," he writes.
The Israeli defense establishment is in a state of shock after the attack, says Yonah Jeremy Bob in the Jerusalem Post:
"They are nowhere near a plan to protect the citizens of Israel from future events of this nature."
