The change of power in Great Britain
Rwanda does not pay back asylum billions: "A British problem, not Rwandan"
Rwanda's government keeps the equivalent of just over three billion kroner that the country received from Great Britain to receive asylum seekers - despite the new government scrapping the plans. This is reported by British and Rwandan media.
"This partnership was initiated by the UK government to solve the crisis of irregular migration - a British problem, not a Rwandan one".
This is what the Rwandan government writes in a press release and points out that the country has kept its part of the agreement, which does not say anything about repayment.
The previous government's plan was to pay Rwanda to house asylum seekers under investigation. 240 million British pounds, over three billion kroner, have already been paid out, according to AFP.

Charges of campaign fraud against France's former first lady
