FBI investigating firebomb attack in Colorado
Several people have been injured in an attack at a mall in the city of Boulder, Colorado. At a press conference, local police chief Stephen Redfearn said that callers reported a man “setting people on fire.”
Witnesses told CBS News that a person had attacked an unknown number of people with one or more firebombs. The attack took place in an area where a demonstration for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza had been held, but it is unclear whether it was the target of the attack.
FBI director Kash Patel says they are investigating a “targeted terrorist attack.” Redfearn says the police are in contact with the FBI but that they themselves are not treating it as a terrorist attack at this time. He also points out that there were many people at the scene.
– It is too early to speculate about a motive, that would be irresponsible. The picture will become clearer.
