At least six people have died in northern India and the state of Sikkim after heavy rain in the region, Reuters reports. Landslides and floods have meant that around 2,000 tourists cannot leave the area.
- It has been raining non-stop for 36 hours. The road to North Sikkim has been damaged at several places, halting connections to the district, local official Hem Kumar Chettri said, according to the news agency.
