Russian oligarchs rake in 120 billion in dividends
A dozen Russian oligarchs have this year received over 1,000 billion rubles in dividends, equivalent to 120 billion kroner. This is after major Russian companies have once again started handing out money to their shareholders, reports Bloomberg.
The dividends are linked to the companies' results last year and in some cases to the first quarter of this year.
The sanctions-listed Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov has received the most money with a dividend of 186 billion roubles, roughly 22 billion kroner.
Several of the high officials have close connections to Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Bloomberg.
Russia's economy went into recession two years ago following the country's war of aggression against Ukraine, but has since recovered.

New EU rules: It is illegal to ask about current salary
It will become illegal to ask about current salary at a job interview, and the employer must inform about the salary scale. These are two of several new rules to be introduced within the EU by June 2026 at the latest, DN reports.
The purpose of the new rules is to create more equality in the labor market. Women in Sweden earn on average 10 percent less than men, according to the Mediation Institute, and therefore an employer's questions about previous salary can cement pay differences, they say.
