The Air Force has carried out a mission in the vicinity of Öland.
Two Russian fighter jets have been checked.
- They were 30 kilometers outside Swedish territory, says press manager Louise Levin.
On Wednesday afternoon, the air force carried out a mission in the vicinity of Öland.
Two Russian Su-30 Flanker planes were then 30 kilometers from Swedish airspace, the air force writes on X.
Two Swedish Jas 39 Gripen planes were sent up to visually identify the Russian planes.
- It is a typical incident mission that the air force carries out, says air force press manager Louise Levin.
On June 14, a Russian SU-24 fighter jet violated -stridsflyg swedish airspace east of the southern tip of Gotland.
The Swedish air combat command then warned the Russian aircraft through a verbal call. When the Russian plane did not depart, two JAS-39 Gripens had to go up and intercept it.
- This behavior is unacceptable regardless of whether it is intentional or not. It shows a lack of respect for our territorial integrity. They were five kilometers into our territory for barely two minutes, said Air Force Chief Jonas Wikman at the time.
