After the TV interview last night, it may be over.

It is seen as Joe Biden's last lifeline in the fight for four new years in the White House.

Day by day, new inside information comes out about how the president is aging alarmingly fast.

Speaking on Friday night in a gym in Madison, Wisconsin, Joe Biden said once again that he remains in the race for the presidency and "will defeat Donald Trump."

Then he sat down in the half-hour long interview which will be broadcast tonight, will be scrutinized in detail and may determine his political fate.

The historic interview with ABC is described as the most important an American president or presidential candidate has done in more than 30 years.

The debate the turn

The debate was the big turning point.

The television images in which Joe Biden repeatedly lost the thread, mumbled and stared with his mouth half open shocked the American viewers.

But many within the Democrats who have met the president in meetings at the White House and at various events were not as surprised.

They say now, anyway.

- The country saw the same thing in the debate as we who had to do with him for two and a half years, for example a senator in the Democrats told NBC News.

"Scary"

Since the last election, Donald Trump and other Republicans have portrayed Joe Biden as a confused zombie who barely knows his name.

From Biden's staff and party colleagues, there have always been assurances that the president may look older, but is still at his peak mentally.

Now it sounds different.

After the debate on Thursday last week, the American media has been filled with anonymous testimonies from within the Democrats about Biden's alarmingly rapid aging and cognitive decline.

During a meeting on migration in the White House a couple of weeks before the debate, Joe Biden is said to have been "frighteningly" weak and without energy, according to a witness to the Washington Post.

Just getting more tired

The same newspaper also describes an internal meeting earlier this spring in which the president spoke so quietly and mumbled that it was difficult to hear what he was saying.

Biden will also, according to the Washington Post's informant, freeze up and appear absent from time to time. At other times he has talked incoherently and embarked on reasonings that no one understands where they are going.

Others told NBC News that Biden looked "tired and tired" in recent times.

Three Democratic members of the House of Representatives have so far demanded that he suspend his re-election campaign.

A number of Democratic debaters and major contributors have done the same.

Hours before the televised interview, new information emerged in the Washington Post  claiming that Senator Mark Warner is trying to organize a group in Congress to persuade Biden to drop out.

A dedicated effort in the television interview in ABC, which is broadcast in its entirety at prime time at 8 pm (02 am Swedish time), is seen as absolutely decisive in saving Biden's campaign.

According to the Washington Post, many senators want to wait for the results of the interview before deciding to support Warner's resignation.

Acts in silence

However, many believe that this is not enough. Behind the scenes, many of the party's leaders are said to be acting to get the president to step down.

- The opinion polls will get worse and people will get even angrier, says a Democrat in the House of Representatives to Politico.

According to the news site, the members of the House of Representatives who want to remove Biden, according to inside sources, are in the majority.

Even among the country's governors who belong to the Democrats, many think it is time for the president to retire.

This despite the fact that everyone publicly supported Joe Biden after a meeting in the White House earlier this week.

Strange words on the radio

- Trust me, the governors I know do not support him and want a change, one governor to Politico.

Since the debate fiasco, Biden's every public appearance has been scrutinized by the media for new signs of cognitive decline.

A radio interview on Thursday received a lot of attention after Biden spun his reasoning and said he was "proud to be the first black woman to serve with a black president."

He also said he was "the first president to be elected to a sta

He also said he was "the first president to be elected to a statewide office in Delaware." According to The New York Times, he probably meant "the first Catholic".
