Security around Donald Trump is further tightened after the attack in Butler last night.

Employees at Trump offices in Washington DC and Florida are being asked to stay home.

"Only God's providence stopped the unthinkable," says the ex-president.

Donald Trump was the target of an assassination attempt on Saturday during a campaign speech in Pennsylvania.

Now he announces that he will make another appearance at the party convention in Wisconsin tomorrow.

"I really love our country, I love all of you, and I look forward to talking to you this week," he writes on his platform Truth Social.

Strengthens security

With a margin of only a few centimetres, the ex-president escaped being seriously hit in the attack.

"I was shot with a bullet that went through my right ear," he says himself about the incident.

After the crime, security around Donald Trump and his staff should have been strengthened.

Among other things, staff personnel are asked to avoid the offices in Washington DC and Florida.

His team also announces that armed police will be on site 24 hours a day.

Security must also be strengthened during tomorrow's meeting in Wisconsin, writes ABC News.

Among other things will be the "reconsidered" security plans that apply to the convention.

"God stopped the unthinkable"

On Sunday morning American time, Donald Trump thanks his voters and God, he writes.

"Thank you all so much for praying for me, only God's providence stopped the unthinkable".

He also writes that one should not be afraid.

"We should NOT be afraid, instead we should be strong in our faith and stand up against the evil we encounter," he writes.
