European diplomats already in contact with Trump
Diplomats from several countries in Europe are said to have already started making contacts with Donald Trump's team ahead of the fall presidential election in the United States in view of the prospect that he may defeat Joe Biden, writes Politico.
British diplomats say they believe they have identified the right people around Donald Trump to communicate with, and that the British government is better prepared this time for Trump to become president than in 2016.
Britain's new Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently met with Biden during the NATO summit in Washington. Members of the British delegation are then said to have been "shocked and appalled" by how fragile Biden appeared.
- It's crazy. All their messages leading up to the election will be drowned out in the reporting about his health, a source told Politico.

Sources: Musk has donated money to the Trump campaign
Elon Musk has donated a significant amount to America Pac, a so-called super-pac that supports Donald Trump's presidential campaign. That is according to sources for Bloomberg.
This marks a change for the world's richest man, who previously called himself politically independent. Musk has not openly supported any candidate in the election, but his contribution gives the Republicans a significant financial advantage, the news agency writes.
America Pac must report its list of donors on Monday, July 15.

More people watched Joe Biden's press conference than the Oscars
Over 23 million people sat down in front of the television to watch US President Joe Biden's first formal press conference in several months on Thursday, writes the New York Times. The newspaper notes that the press conference had more viewers than this year's Oscars.
The president's press conference, which lasted almost an hour in connection with the NATO summit in Washington, is one of the year's largest televised events in the United States so far. It was broadcast in almost all the major television channels in the country.
However, the debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in June was watched by more people, over 51 million.
