Israel-Hezbollah

New Israeli attacks on Lebanon – several dead

Fourteen people, including several children, have been killed in new Israeli attacks on the cities of Tyre and Saida in southern Lebanon. This is reported by several media outlets, citing the Lebanese news agency NNA.

The Israeli military issued evacuation orders for the two cities, as well as the city of Nabatieh. On Wednesday evening and Thursday night, several attacks were carried out, according to the IDF, against Hezbollah targets in the area.

A video published by AFP on YouTube shows a high-rise building in Tyre being hit in an attack, and a large cloud of smoke rising into the sky.

Israel and Hezbollah have attacked each other several times during the ceasefire that came into effect in mid-April.

The ceasefire under pressure as Israel attacks Beirut

For the first time since May 6, Israel has attacked the Lebanese capital Beirut, writes AP. The attack targeted an apartment building in the southern part of the city, putting further pressure on the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

According to Haaretz, the IDF said the target of the attack was a senior Hezbollah leader.

Tensions have risen in southern Lebanon in recent days and Israel has intensified its attacks. On Wednesday evening and Thursday night, attacks were directed at the two coastal cities of Tyre and Saida, killing several people. Among the dead were both women and children, as well as a Lebanese soldier, according to the NNA news agency.

Earlier this week, an Israeli soldier was killed in a drone attack by Hezbollah in northern Israel.
