Confident Trump wraps up campaign
Overnight into Monday, Donald Trump held some of his final campaign rallies ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections in the United States.
Trump campaigned for his party’s candidates in Iowa and Kansas—states where Republicans would normally expect to win, even without the president’s support.
“We are going to win,” Trump told the crowd in Iowa, describing the Democrats as “extreme and dangerous radicals.”
However, opinion polls ahead of the midterms indicate that the Democrats are likely to take the majority in the House of Representatives from the Republicans, and they have a genuine chance of winning the Senate, which is currently controlled by the Republicans.
According to the White House, Trump will conclude the final stretch of the campaign with a series of digital rallies and a speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, scheduled for Monday evening at 8:00 PM Swedish time.
