Zelenskyy: We’ll stop targeting oil facilities if we get missiles
Ukraine will stop attacking Russian oil refineries if the US provides Kyiv with Patriot missiles. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Fox News.
“We have said that if you (the US) do not want us to attack Russia’s refineries, then they should not be allowed to attack ours. Another option is to provide us with Patriot missiles—we will come up with the funds,” says Zelenskyy.
Last Friday, the US approved the sale of 500 Patriot missiles to Kyiv—a purchase that, according to Bloomberg, was financed by donations from Canada, Germany, and Norway, as well as a multi-billion loan from the EU to Ukraine.
Zelenskyy welcomed the deal, but also noted that it could take several years for the missiles to reach Ukraine.
